We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious experimental biologist to join our research team at the Department of Molecular Biology of the Radboud Institute for Molecular Life Sciences (RIMLS) (Faculty of Science, Radboud University, Nijmegen, Netherlands). Our ambitious and world-renowned research team studies epigenetic reprogramming of circulating monocytes in sepsis. The project is a close collaboration with Prof. Mihai Netea’s team (immunology/infectiology) at the Radboud university medical center.
You will be employed on the basis of a ZonMW-TOP grant and be part of a dedicated team of molecular and cell biologists and bioinformaticians. You will actively participate in projects that combine molecular biology, next-generation sequencing, and proteomic and CRISPR screens to define and manipulate the regulatory circuitry underlying innate immune memory in health and disease. The focus will be on single-cell RNA sequencing. The department has a strong bioinformatic team with whom you will closely interact. You will have the opportunity to develop novel ideas and work on an independent project that aligns with our research interests.
- a PhD in molecular or cellular biology, molecular life sciences or related field;
- experience with the generation and analysis of next-generation sequencing approaches (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, and single-cell RNA-seq);
- excellent communication skills in written and spoken English;
- strong analytical skills, and a problem-solving and result-oriented attitude;
- the ability to work and interact with others in an energetic and supportive research group.
Strategically located in Europe, Radboud University is one of the leading academic communities in the Netherlands. A place with a personal touch, where top-flight education and research take place on a beautiful green campus in modern buildings with state-of-art facilities.
Faculty of Science
Our group offers a first-class and international research environment, where the regulation of gene expression and epigenetics are studied using state-of-the-art genomic and proteomic technologies and bioinformatics. Our research focuses on stem cells, nuclear pathways in cancer, (epi)genetics aspects of haematopoiesis, and proteomics of chromatin. Our equipment includes next-generation sequencers, single-cell equipment, and two nLC-MS/MS mass spectrometers. We accommodate a bioinformatics team and a local computational infrastructure.
