Strategist who translates company goals into new HR concepts


In this position you are responsible for the development and implementation of the HR strategy and HR policies for Yanmar in Europe. Your main responsibilities:

  • Build a HR structure for the region and develop new programs to implement the new HR strategy in Europe.
  • Setting up a European Talent Management Program in close cooperation with the Global HR team.
  • Establish clear and consistent HR policies and procedures aligned with the core values and policies to maximize consistency and efficiency throughout the assigned companies.
  • Oversee the annual performance management review to ensure a high performance culture.
  • Establish a competitive and equitable compensation and benefits structure for employees.
  • Manage and support the HR business partners within Europe. Align with the Country Directors and the head office in Japan.
  • Yanmar has got 1600 staff members in Europe. Your team consist of six HR managers at different locations in Europe. You will report directly to the President of Yanmar Europe BV with a functional reporting line to Global HR in Japan.


Yanmar Europe BV is looking for a structured and analytically strong HR director, experienced in managing a team located in different countries. A strategist with strong business sense to translate the business strategy to HR concepts and programs. Your profile:

  • A degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Business Administration or similar.
  • Minimum of 5 year of experience in managing a team as HR lead within an international organization.
  • Experience and knowledge of HR policies and practices within the region and experienced in setting up development and training programs.
  • Managing organizational changes due to the assignment of new organizations.
  • Drive developments within the organization to support the growth strategy within Yanmar.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of your time.
  • Excellent English language skills, knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
  • Located on travelling distance from Almere.
