The DUBBLE project is jointly funded by the Dutch and Flemish research councils (NWO/FWO). Its remit is to provide Dutch and Flemish researchers access to sophisticated synchrotron radiation beamlines bases at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble (France).
The ESRF is the most powerful synchrotron radiation source in Europe. Each year several thousand researchers travel to Grenoble, where they work in a first-class scientific environment to conduct exciting experiments at the cutting edge of modern science. The experiments that are carried out cover a large spectrum of research fields.
Research carried out on the beamlines is multidisciplinary but with an emphasis on soft condensed matter and operando/real-time type of experiments. In recent years microfocus and grazing incidence capacities have been installed and will have to be developed further.
DUBBLE at the ESRF are looking to recruit a Beamline Scientist for the SAXS/WAXS beamline. We would also consider recruiting at post-doctoral level provided the candidate has sufficient experience working at a synchrotron radiation beamline.
The DUBBLE project consists of a SAXS/WAXS and an X-ray spectroscopy beamline which are operated by a team of 4 scientists and 3 technical support staff based in Grenoble. Several PhD and postdocs complement the team.
